Adopets started in 2016 to solve a problem most adopters never see: shelters and rescues run their operations on a stack of spreadsheets, paper applications, group chats, and disconnected tools. The animals are visible to the world; the operational fragmentation behind them is not. The product thesis was that giving shelters a real operating system — applications, communications, workflow automation, animal records, status pipelines — and putting adopters on the other side of the same data would compress the funnel and drop the friction.
I founded the company and ran it as CEO from inception through the acquisition. The product was built by a team I assembled and led under my product direction — engineers, designers, customer success, and operators. My day-to-day was the company itself: defining the product roadmap, raising capital, hiring and growing the team, building the operating cadence, leading sales and partnerships, owning the go-to-market across multiple countries, and steering the company through the messy realities of scaling a two-sided platform.
Adopets went through the Techstars Boston accelerator in 2019 and was acquired in January 2022. After the acquisition cycle completed, I joined Pet Loyalty Inc. as Chief Customer Officer and Board Member to stabilize and rebuild customer trust during integration.
I claim the company — its strategy, the team that built it, the customers it served across multiple countries, the capital raised along the way, and the outcome that took it to acquisition.
